It was a lovely weekend in Italy especially in Civitacchia nearby Rome and a very nice weather.The Italian section of IFFR with president Enrico Maranzana invited us for the Fly In 2022 Santa Severa from 2^eto 5 th September.

Our Benelux section was well represented with our webmaster Yves Geernaert with Hilde, our treasurer Maurice Tax with Hijlien  and past president Huub van Heur with Luciana.

The first day at Friday, we had a lunch at the small airfield of airport Santa Severa, a grass runway for light aircraft and we were invited to fly with some owners of a such a plane. We also visit the caste at Santa Severa.

The first dinner in the evening was a 6 course dinner very good and very much.

At Saturday we went to Rome  Vatican city and and made city tour of Rome. In the evening a nice dinner in the country at Poggio del Principe.

At Sunday our last day of the fly in (departure at Monday) we went to an archeologic  museum and a field (necropolis)  how the rich were buried a few thousand years ago.

In the evening we had the gala dinner in our hotel, with the rotary club of Civitavecchia, Cerveteru-Ladispoli and Roma Tevere and the Gouvernor. 

A very nice show,  dresscode “suit with tie  (at 30 degrees) !!

The president Enrico welcomed us and announced that from now on we were allowed to take off the tie and coat.

During the dinner many flags were exchanged, so also ours by Maurice. He gave a glowing speech about our fly in at Seppe EHSE and invited every one at June 23, 24 and 25.Next day leaving Civitavecchia with sun back to rainy Holland.
